Endnight Games, the developer of Sons of the Forest, has revealed that the game’s release date of February 23rd will be changed to an early access release to avoid additional delays and give fans the opportunity to assist in completing the game.
Sons of the Forest is an upcoming Adventure-Survival game developed by Endnight Games. The game initial release date was February 23, 2023. But as it seems the game is not ready yet for full release, therefor will be released as Early Access on Steam so the gaming community can help the developers finish the game. This have become common practice in the recent few years in many genres.
Endnight Games shared its plans for Sons of the Forest’s release and development through a Steam post, emphasizing the importance of community involvement, just as it did for the first game.
“It’s been a long journey since we first started ‘Sons of The Forest’ development and it’s grown into the biggest most complex game we have ever made,” was posterd. “There is still so much more we want to add; items, new mechanics, gameplay balance and more. We didn’t want to delay again so have instead decided to involve the community in the continued development of this project and keep our February 23rd release date but instead release in Early Access.
“‘The Forest’ turned out to be a massive success, due mostly to the awesome community and the suggestions, feedback, and bug reports the players shared with us,” the post continues. “We are really excited and hope that players want to come on this new journey with us to make this the ultimate survival horror simulator.”
Sons of the Forest, the sequel to 2014’s The Forest, was originally announced in 2019 and has undergone two delays in 2022 due to the game’s expansive scope.
